1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Free Text to Speech (available at free-text-to-speech.com), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the website or its services.
These terms apply to all visitors, users, and content creators who access or utilize our voice synthesis tools.
2. Description of Service
Free Text to Speech is a client-side web application that enables users to synthesize written text into spoken audio using two selectable voice engines: Microsoft Edge Neural Voices (streamed via WebSocket) and Device Local Voices (via the standard Web Speech API).
The service is provided completely free of charge. No registration, user account, subscription fee, or financial commitment is required.
3. Intellectual Property & Commercial Usage Rights
We take a creator-first approach to intellectual property rights:
- Your Text Remains Yours: You retain complete and exclusive intellectual property ownership of any text, script, book chapter, or dialogue you input into the service. We assert zero ownership, copyright, or licensing claims over your written content.
- Royalty-Free Commercial & Personal Use: You are granted full permission to use, distribute, broadcast, monetize, and publish the audio files generated through our service for both personal and commercial purposes.
- Approved Commercial Channels: This includes monetized YouTube videos, TikTok videos, Instagram Reels, commercial podcasts, video game voiceovers, audiobooks, educational e-learning courses, and corporate training presentations.
- No Attribution Required: While a shout-out or link back to free-text-to-speech.com is always appreciated, it is never legally mandatory.
4. Acceptable Use Policy
You agree to use Free Text to Speech only for lawful purposes. You expressly agree NOT to use the service to generate speech that:
- Violates any applicable local, national, or international law or regulation.
- Promotes hate speech, violence, harassment, discrimination, defamation, or illegal activities.
- Intentionally impersonates real living persons, public officials, or organizations without authorization (e.g., deceptive deepfakes or fraudulent audio phishing scams).
- Distributes malicious software, automated spam scripts, or attempts to disrupt or overburden service infrastructure.
5. Third-Party Endpoints & Services
Our web application facilitates communication with third-party voice synthesis endpoints provided by Microsoft Edge and your device's native operating system. Free Text to Speech does not control, and is not responsible for, changes to third-party endpoints, service availability, or the terms of third-party platform providers.
6. Disclaimer of Warranties
